Jobs of Tomorrow concluded its first series of sessions to students and refugees in Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkey. I was honored to partner with BDS to bring the program to 700+ students. I was fortunate to connect with passionate, inspiring, and accomplished professionals, Ms. Maria Fernanda-Reyes, Dr. Akshay Balsubramani, Ms. Aida Ansari, and Dr. Vinita Bharat. They covered topics such as “Endless travel through the world of ideas”, “Biotechnology”, “Neuroscience” and “Agricultural Technology”.
Thank you Ms. Aida for presenting in Persian, it mattered a lot to the students to be able to hear from people that they could personally identify with. Thank you Mr. Akshay for staying an additional hour to answer the questions. Thank you Ms. Maria for telling them your story and teaching them about grit and resilience. A Big Thank you to Ms. Vinita for stepping in at the last moment to give the presentation when we had a cancelation. I am so glad you could make it at such short notice and talk to the students.
Thank you everyone for inspiring the students and sowing the seeds of STEM careers in the minds of the students.
Here are some pictures from the different sessions.
Jobs of Tomorrow was truly humbled to bring the program to these students. According to their teacher, Mr. Saroosh, the Jobs of Tomorrow program is unique as it is the first program that is bringing professionals from different fields to speak to the students directly. The students are learning a lot by getting direct exposure to different STEM fields.
Many students tuned in live to watch the presentations and many more will watch the replay of the videos as many could not join because they were working or only have internet connectivity at their school.
Many thanks to the translators, Mr. Bilal and Mr. Saroosh, who translated the sessions into Persian, and to Mr. Kim, founder of BDS, for partnering with Jobs of Tomorrow.
The students would like more sessions and would like to hear about Robotics, Software Engineering, ML, and AI. Jobs of Tomorrow will plan to run the next set of sessions in Fall by working again with BDS.
